The Eprene class consists of products that can replace natural rubber and TPV (vulcanized thermoplastic), as well as similar products like Synprene, Santoprene, and Sarlink.
Products included in this class are compatible with polypropylene, and are used for over-molding and extrusion. Their resistance to UV rays makes them the ideal choice for outdoor applications that require a high resistance to oxidizing agents.
These products are mainly used for footwear, profiles, construction, toys, “soft touch” and commodities.
Eprene-class products are formulated from SEBS. Contrary to SBS, SEBS does not contain double bonds (by nature sensitive to oxidation), making it especially resistant to wear. It is therefore perfectly suited for harsh conditions involving heat, ultraviolet radiation, ozone, or oxydizing agents. Example: Kraton G
